Since my beloved Sammy was born I began writing a short story about what my role as a grandmother should be. I've chronicled his birth and now Emma's birth.
I truly believe there is a wrong way and a right way....
I've paid special attention to how my grandmother was, the kind of grandmother my children had from both sides. Then I've thought about the grandmothers I've seen through out my life and have come to the conclusion as to what kind of a grandmother I want to strive to be....
I absolutely adore my two beautiful grandkids. I want to be able to take all the good I've seen in other grandmothers and avoid the bad.
Here are a few tips that I've written in my book and just a taste of whats to come....
1. be 100% accessible to them...(that means babysitting and sleepovers).
2. Buy them something every week if possible.
3. Pray for them always, but when in their presence I always lay hands on them and say a quick prayer. I plead the blood of Jesus over them...
4. When staying over...play with them, give them all their favorite foods, enjoy their company and let your world revolve around them.
5. Talk to them about Jesus....
6. Teach them "This little light of mine", Yes, Jesus Loves Me, Father Abraham had many sons....
7. Tell them how much you love them constantly...
8. Kiss them constantly....because soon enough one day they won't let you (but just for a few years in between)
9. Tell them stories of their parents....
10. Pray kneeling together before bedtime....
My heart is so full, I never knew how special they could be! Thank you my Lord for giving us such a gift!
I wish this special bond for you someday!

You're welcome! Ha ha! I could not have asked for better grandparents for my kids. You have been such a blessing to me, I could not have done this or be doing this without you both as an example and helper. Sammy and Emma love yaya and pop so much adn it is worth the "detox" when they come home! Love...
